Luxottica
An eyesight charity foundation website for a global eyewear brand

Assignment

OneSight, a non-profit foundation backed by the renowned brand Luxottica, focuses on providing eye care and eyewear to underserved communities across the globe. They approached us with the goal of creating a Jamstack website that would offer their marketing team the ability to build and manage pages using an intuitive visual editor, as well as provide a platform for a series of microsites that showcase their various initiatives and campaigns over a three-year period.

Approach

We began the project by understanding OneSight's objectives and analyzing their target audience's needs. With this insight, we crafted a UI/UX design that prioritized accessibility, user-friendliness, and adherence to OneSight's brand guidelines.

For website development, we utilized the Jamstack architecture, leveraging static site generation and serverless functions to ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability. We selected Sanity CMS as the content management system, given its flexibility and powerful visual editor capabilities.

To meet OneSight's requirement for customizable page components, we developed over 14 unique and adaptable modules within Sanity CMS. These modules allowed their marketing team to create and manage pages with ease, offering a high degree of flexibility in content presentation.

Implementation

Throughout the three-year collaboration, we worked closely with OneSight's creative teams in the US and Italy, ensuring the successful execution of their vision. We built a series of microsites to support their various initiatives and campaigns, each with its own unique design and functionality, while maintaining consistent branding and user experience.

We integrated the Sanity CMS visual editor with the website, enabling OneSight's marketing team to effortlessly manage and create content. We also provided documentation and training to ensure a seamless transition and ongoing management of the website.

Outcome

The result was a high-performance and secure Jamstack website that empowered OneSight's marketing team with an intuitive visual editor and a wide range of customizable page components. The website and microsites effectively showcased OneSight's mission, initiatives, and campaigns, resonating with their target audience and stakeholders.

The collaboration with OneSight's creative teams across multiple countries and time zones was an enriching experience, and together, we were able to create a digital platform that not only met their needs but also contributed to their ongoing mission of providing eye care to those in need around the world.
