Explore.org, a philanthropic mission funded by the Annenberg Foundation, sought to raise awareness of animals and endangered native tribes worldwide. They required a comprehensive platform that included microsites and proprietary software to stream live feeds of animals in their natural habitats. The objective was to capture live animal footage, process the video feeds through automated transformation scripts, and display them on the website for viewers to enjoy, all while raising awareness for conservation efforts.
Approach
We started by understanding Explore.org's mission and vision and the technical requirements necessary to create a powerful platform for live animal streaming. Based on this understanding, we designed a custom Python Django-based platform that would effectively address Explore.org's needs.
The platform's design focused on seamless video processing, enabling live feeds of animals in their natural habitats to be transformed and displayed for viewers to enjoy. We also developed multiple microsites to showcase various animal habitats and endangered native tribes, ensuring that the platform served as an educational and awareness-raising tool.
Implementation
Over the course of several years, our team worked closely with Explore.org to build the comprehensive platform. We developed proprietary software for processing live animal video feeds and created multiple microsites to provide viewers with diverse content related to animal habitats and endangered native tribes.
Throughout the development process, we maintained open communication with Explore.org's team, incorporating feedback and ensuring that the platform met their expectations and requirements.
